KL Rahul-Unadkat out of IPL: Both are in the WTC final team, but doubt about playing; 16 players out of IPL so far
Lucknow Super Giants captain KL Rahul and fast bowler Jaydev Unadkat have been ruled out of the current season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). He was injured in the match against KL Lucknow. Unadkat suffered an injury during the nets.
Lucknow has retained Rahul for 17 crores. Unadkat was bought by Lucknow in the 2022 mini-auction at a base price of 50 lakhs.
Both these players are included in the final team of the World Test Championship (WTC). Now there is doubt even on playing the final match of these two. The final match is to be held in England against Australia from June 7 to 11.
Talking about IPL, so far 16 players have been eliminated from this tournament. These include big names like Jasprit Bumrah of Mumbai Indians, Kane Williamson of Gujarat Titans, and Kolkata Knight Riders captain Shreyas Iyer.
Unadkat fell while bowling in the nets
The Lucknow team was practicing on Sunday. Jaydev Unadkat was bowling in the nets. During this, his leg got stuck and he fell down. Unadkat fell on his shoulder. After this, in the picture that came out, Unadkat was seen getting shoulder icing done.
KL Rahul’s leg stretched, batted despite the injury
KL Rahul was also injured while fielding in the match played at Ekana Stadium on Monday. In the second over of RCB’s innings, he had suffered a leg strain while stopping Faf du Plessis’ shot. After this Rahul went out of the ground. Despite the injury, Rahul came to bat, but his team lost by 18 runs. Bengaluru did not allow the target of 127 runs to chase.
Question- Will Rahul and Unadkat play in the WTC final?
The BCCI has just dropped both of them from the remaining matches of the IPL after talking to the medical team. Now Unadkat and Rahul will consult doctors in Mumbai. CT scan of both will also be done in Mumbai itself. After this, he will go to the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore to recover from the injury. It depends on the speed of recovery of the injury and whether both will play in the WTC final or not.
