Washington Sundar out of entire IPL season: complaint of a hamstring injury, took 3 wickets in the last match against Delhi
Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) has suffered a major setback in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. The team’s star all-rounder Washington Sundar has been ruled out of the remaining matches of the season due to a hamstring injury. Franchise Sunrisers Hyderabad gave this information on Thursday. However, no information has been given regarding his replacement. Sundar took three wickets in the last match against Delhi Capitals.
SRH wrote on their official Twitter, ‘Washington Sundar has been ruled out of IPL 2023 due to hamstring injury. We wish him a speedy recovery. SRH bought Sundar in the IPL 2022 mega auction for Rs 8.75 crore.
36 wickets in Washington Sundar’s IPL
Washington Sundar has played seven matches this season. During this, he scored 60 runs at a strike rate of 100 and took three wickets. Sundar made his IPL debut in 2017. After this, he played 58 matches in the tournament and took 36 wickets. He has 378 runs in 58 matches.
Hyderabad at number nine in the points table
Hyderabad’s team is only above Delhi in the points table. Hyderabad has won only two out of seven matches and has faced defeat in the remaining five matches. Hyderabad needs to win at least five of the remaining seven matches to make it to the playoffs. This team has to play its next match against Delhi Capitals on 29 April.
